The Daichis are a family on the brink of collapse. Seiko, a dissatisfied and money‑obsessed mother, has handed divorce papers to her timid, otaku husband Mamoru. Daughter Nozomi, who has always been burdened with household chores, feels hurt by the family’s neglect. The youngest, Dai, is the most foul‑mouthed of the trio, and he watches the family disintegrate. When the Galaxy Federation enlists the Daichis to defend Earth against alien threats, the family gains a chance to protect the planet, and perhaps find unity.
