Description
In a near‑future Japan, robots have become an everyday part of society, and newly developed androids are now entering households. Thanks to the Robot Ethics Committee, it is standard practice to treat androids as appliances, and their human‑like appearance, except for a distinctive ring on each head, has led some people to over‑identify with them. These “android‑holics” have become a social issue. Rikuo, a high‑school student who has been taught from childhood that androids should not be considered humans, uses them merely as tools. One day he uncovers strange data in the behavioral logs of his family’s household android, setting off a chain of events that challenges his assumptions.
