The movie is the definitive, complete version of the story, incorporating all original OVAs and adding entirely new scenes that flesh out the background of several characters. Set in a near‑future Japan where androids are integrated into every facet of society, the plot follows Rikuo, a student who notices irregular return times in his android companion Sammy’s behavioral log. Together with his friend Masaki, Rikuo discovers a small café called Eve no Jikan, a place where androids and humans coexist without distinction. While interacting with the café’s patrons, both human and android, Rikuo learns more about Sammy’s behavior, which shifts his perception and leads him to regard androids as friends rather than mere machines.
