Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu Gaiden (1999)

Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu Gaiden (1999) serves as a prequel to Legend of Galactic Heroes, focusing on Yang Wen‑li and chronicling how he became the hero of El Facile and the missions he undertook afterward. It also continues the Spiral Labyrinth storyline by delving into the backgrounds of Reinhard and Kircheis beyond where the first Gaiden ended. The series is a collection of independent short stories set before the Overture to a New War, with some adapted from the novels and others entirely original.
