Description
Kongjui lives alone with her father, until a stepmother and her stepsister Patchui enter the household. With her father away, the stepmother and Patchui force Kongjui to perform all housework, and the stepmother readily accepts Patchui’s lies, subjecting Kongjui to relentless physical abuse. When rumors surface that Kongjui will marry the son of a respected family, the stepmother goes to great lengths to arrange Patchui’s marriage to the young man instead. Unaware of her stepmother’s schemes, Kongjui encounters the young man in the woods, and the two fall in love.
