Mei to Koneko Bus is a short film shown exclusively at the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. It serves as a mini‑sequel to My Neighbor Totoro. On a very windy day, Mei enjoys a caramel when a whirlwind appears and begins to chase her. The whirlwind turns out to be a baby cat bus. Mei offers the kitten a caramel, and the two become friends. That night the baby cat bus returns to visit Mei, letting her ride inside it before it leaps into the sky. Together they head toward a midnight forest filled with ghosts, where other cat buses, both large and small, have gathered. In the forest, Mei encounters…
