While Angelique enjoys a tranquil life at school, attacks by the monstrous Thanatos grow more frequent in the surrounding areas. One day two Purifiers arrive, men endowed with the power to exterminate the Thanatos. Nyx, in particular, attempts to persuade Angelique to join their cause, claiming that she could be the first female Purifier. Angelique hesitates. Soon after, a Thanatos appears in the school. Nyx and the other Purifier, Rayne, engage it but are ultimately defeated. With classmates falling prey to the monsters and the Purifiers beaten, Angelique’s resolve to protect everyone is awakened. She becomes the sole female Purifier in Arcadia, earning the title “Queen’s Egg.”
