Ookami Ryouko is a tall, spunky high‑school girl whose demeanor and speech are often described as strikingly masculine, and she is exceptionally skilled in combat. Her best friend, the small, high‑pitched‑voiced Akai Ringo, stands beside her in many adventures. Though both girls are flat‑chested, a detail frequently noted by the narrator, voiced by Arai “Kuroko” Satomi, their friendship remains strong. Together, they belong to the Otogi Bank, a club at Otogi High School that helps classmates solve their problems in exchange for the members’ assistance on a different issue later; in effect, the club functions as a problem‑solving loan institute.
