Description

The theatrical film adaptation of Yokoyama Mitsuteru’s manga Tetsujin 28‑Gō: Hakuchū no Zangetsu follows genius boy detective Shotaro Kaneda and his giant robot, Tetsujin 28, set in Tokyo a decade after the end of World War II. Shotaro’s missing brother returns as a new character, trained to pilot the soldier robot Tetsujin that Japan had built for the war. With the conflict over, he finds himself in a peaceful Japan. Meanwhile, the city of Tokyo is threatened by the discovery of “Destruction Bombs.” These bombs, designed by Professor Kaneda, the creator of Tetsujin 28 and Shotaro’s father, as ultimate defensive weapons, could, if detonated, reduce Tokyo to ashes.
