In a world where information networks have reached their zenith, the digital realm, known as Wired, exists alongside the physical world. Soma Toru, a member of the hacker collective Steppen Wolf, roams freely through this network. Their final mission is to infiltrate the United Nations' database. During the operation, Toru’s teammate and leader, Nonomura Yuya, is killed, leading to Toru’s arrest by the army. To secure his release, Toru is forced to join the first squad of the UN Security Force Information Administration Bureau, an anti‑hacker organization. While serving with them, he hunts the person responsible for Yuya’s death, seeking justice and redemption.
