This film covers the latter half of Osamu Tezuka’s celebrated saga about a white lion’s quest to become king of the jungle. Leo’s newborn cub, Lune, becomes fascinated with humans after finding a music box in the wreckage of an airplane. At the same time, a greedy treasure hunter named Ham Egg leads a rough expedition team in search of the fabled Moonlight Stones, said to save the world from an energy crisis. Two other humans, Dr. Moustache and Lemonade, attempt to stop Ham Egg’s destructive exploitation of the jungle. Later, a deadly virus spreads through the forest, poisoning many animals.
