Description

Memory data can now be stored, so the death of a body is no longer final. Memories are saved in databanks and can be transferred to new bodies. Because of the advent of “memory trading,” people can steal memories and illegally alter them. Society has collapsed as authority has become lost and stagnant. One day a man awakens in a ruined room. He is Kaiba, with no memories except a pendant that holds a picture of an unknown woman. Above him, the sky roils with clouds and electrical storms, a dangerous barrier that causes loss of memory for anyone who tries to cross. Beyond the storms lies the realm of the rich and powerful, who barter other people’s bodies and memories.
