Kakomareta Sekai is a 30‑second short animation created by Makoto Shinkai using the 3D software Lightwave. It draws inspiration from Haruki Murakami’s novel *Hard‑Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World* (original Japanese title *Sekai no Owari to Hard‑Boiled Wonderland*). The score was composed by Tenmon, who also provided music for Shinkai’s works *Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko*, *Hoshi no Koe*, and *Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho*. Initially available on Shinkai’s website, the short was removed because of bandwidth limitations, and its prospects for a formal release are low, as the project was intended solely as a practice exercise in 3D CGI.
