Kasumi Haruno is a fourth‑grade student who comes to Kasumi Town to say goodbye to her zoologist parents before they depart for research in Africa. In the town’s center, surrounded by forest, stands the large Kasumi family mansion where she will stay. Upon entering the gate, she immediately senses a strange atmosphere emanating from the Kasumi Forest. When she finally reaches the mansion, she discovers talking appliances. It becomes apparent that the Kasumi family members are youkai known as Henamon. Kasumi never imagined she would end up living with a family of Henamon, and she spends her days cooking, doing laundry, and cleaning in exchange for their hospitality.
