Kasumi Haruno is a fourth‑grade student who travels to Kasumi Town to say goodbye to her zoologist parents before they depart for a research expedition in Africa. In the heart of the town, surrounded by forest, stands the expansive Kasumi family mansion where she will reside. As soon as she passes through the gate, an uncanny atmosphere seems to rise from the nearby Kasumi Forest. Upon entering the mansion, she discovers talking appliances and learns that the Kasumi family are actually youkai known as the Henamon. Unprepared for this revelation, Kasumi finds herself settling into a routine of cooking, laundry, and cleaning in exchange for a home among the Henamon.
