Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED Special Edition consists of three television movies adapted from the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series: *The Empty Battlefield* (Kokuu no Senjou), *The Far‑Away Dawn* (Harukanaru Akatsuki), and *The Rumbling Sky* (Meidou no Sora). Set in the year CE 70, the catastrophic event known as “Bloody Valentine” has escalated the conflict between the Naturals of the Earth Alliance (EA) and the genetically enhanced Coordinators of PLANT. ZAFT, PLANT’s military organization, holds a decisive advantage thanks to its advanced mobile suits, which outclass the EA’s mobile armors. Kira Yamato, a Coordinator living in the neutral colony of Heliopolis, is caught in a surprise ZAFT attack that leads him to discover the EA’s secret project, an exceptionally powerful mobile suit he calls the Gunda.
