Episode 0, “First Contact,” tells the story of the origins of the Lupin III gang. In this flashback, Lupin is after American mob boss Galvez’s most prized treasure, a treasure hidden inside another treasure. Jigen, hired by Galvez, fails to kill the cat‑burglar Lupin on his first attempt and seeks revenge. Fujiko is the girlfriend of Lupin’s rival, Brad. Inspector Zenigata travels from Japan to America to arrest Fujiko. Goemon quests for the legendary steel‑cutting sword, Zantetsuken, which is mysteriously connected to the treasure in Galvez’s vault. Through a series of twists and turns, these complete strangers become acquainted in their “First Contact,” launching an epic adventure together.
