Description

Cat Soup is a film that resists simple description, blending striking surreal imagery with almost no dialogue. It feels more like a work of art than a conventional anime, rich with themes such as the transience of existence while still being enjoyable without full comprehension. The plot, though straightforward, can be elusive without explanation. A cat named Nyatto embarks on a quest to rescue his sister’s soul, which was split in two when he tried to shield her from Death. The sister follows him, rendered brain‑dead. Together they encounter a series of brilliant, mind‑bending situations, beginning with a disturbing magic show.
