When poetry‑spouting swordsman Tatewaki Kuno invites Ranma, Akane, and their friends aboard his brand‑new luxury yacht for a leisurely cruise, a sudden storm wrecks the vessel and leaves the group stranded on a deserted island. Rather than repair the boat, they must confront a more urgent threat: all the young girls in their company begin to disappear. They discover that Prince Toma, the youthful ruler of the floating island Togenkyo, has kidnapped the girls. A magical spring on the island instantly turns anything it touches into male, forcing would‑be bridegrooms to kidnap girls before they are transformed. Ranma’s reluctant fiancée Akane is among those abducted, and he must rescue her, and the other girls, while also seeking the spring’s water, which could cure his own sha.
