Forty years ago, a Celebi was attacked by a Pokémon Hunter, but a young boy named Sammy intervened and saved it. Using Celebi’s time‑traveling power, the Pokémon and Sammy were transported forty years into the future. In this new era, Ash, Misty, and Brock join forces with Sammy to escort Celebi to a healing lake deep in the forest. However, an evil Team Rocket operative known as Viscious, also called “The Iron Masked Marauder,” attempts to capture Celebi with his advanced technology. As Ash and his friends try to escape Viscious, they are confronted by Jessie, James, and Meowth, who also seek to seize the powerful Pokémon. With time running out, the group must race to bring Celebi and Sammy back to the forest before the villain captures them, uses Celebi to destroy the forest, and threatens their own survival.
