While Pikachu and the other Pokémon are relaxing on a beach, a weakened Wynaut approaches them. He explains that his friends were attacked by Meowth and the other Team Rocket Pokémon, along with an Exploud and a Hariyama, because Meowth sought to seize their playground on a nearby island. Moved by Wynaut’s story, Pikachu and his friends decide to help reclaim the playground, beginning training so they can free the island from Meowth’s grasp.
